Here is an update from our current DTS... Our school started on April 5th, 2007. On Thursday we moved our students into their fales and received them with welcome baskets. We officially began with our opening ceremony on Friday evening welcoming eleven students into our school- four boys and seven girls. As with all our schools we ask God for a specific word. The word given to us for this school is “God will build an army.” We believe that these students are God’s army and He has sent them to us to help train for His war. We are running a normal DTS “And we are already so excited with what God is doing in the lives of our students! After letting the students settle in for the weekend we spent Monday at the beach playing games, swimming, and having a barbeque. The beginning and end of our first week really was in the hands of God. We started our lectures on Monday evening with our first speaker, Mr. Peni Finau. Mr. Finau covered our first topic, which was having a Sure Foundation. Mr. Finau gave an altar call and some of our students accepted the Lord, as their savior- God is good! Then on Friday we had a service where we saw some of our students being broken and healed, praising the Lord, and becoming new creations in Him! The next week we prepared for a wedding between a former Lafalafa student and a girl from Australia. Unfortunately, due to rain, the wedding was held at a church in town instead of our campus but we still had a good time fellowshipping with our School of Frontier Missions students and preparing the food! Our second week we learned about Hearing God’s voice, Quiet Time, and Meditation. This week's teaching was led by some of our staff and our leader, Mrs. Apikale Latu. Currently we are in week three, The Nature and Character of God. We have been blessed to learn about this topic from Apikale Latu and George Fiu and are looking forward to hearing our other speakers for the end of this week. PRAYER NEEDS: ~ Our biggest prayer need is transportation. We are praying that God will bless us with a car. Always relying on a ride is a great inconvenience and it really does prohibit us from doing a lot of things! ~ We are in need mattresses. Anyone who would like to donate a new or gently used mattress will be greatly appreciated- ours are falling apart. ~ Finally, we are continuing to pray for finances for our students and staff If you would like to contribute to any of these needs please email us at dts_tonga@yahoo.com or our mailing address University of the Nations Nuku’aolfa, Tonga Private Bag 62 South Pacific
